Wool tapestry
Morno
A pleasure for all your senses
Hand-woven collection in merino wool and linen. A way to feel and dream.
Imagine being enveloped in a warm embrace, a nap, the pleasure of walking barefoot, the touch of a slow caress, the emotion of a landscape and its color. That is Morno.
"Camino del agua" is the first design of a textile collection made entirely by hand, in natural wool of different textures, designed so that all those pleasures are at your fingertips, so you can enjoy it as a decorative tapestry, a fluffy rug or a blanket to dream on.
Limited pieces and unique designs, hand-woven on a handmade loom, in Taller de Diseño Textil RiR & Co located in Allariz. Galicia.
Feel them naturally, the pleasure is ours
WATER WAY
Just as the water of the streams always makes its way through the rocks, the wool emerges in loops from the warp of the fabric.
Made with different wools: combed merino wool, natural and colored, from the transhumance of Castile and Castilian wool from Leon. Some of these wools are hand-spun. The warp is cotton-linen.
With this line, which is more pictorial and personal, I have started a path in which I try to merge my taste for painting and art with handmade textiles. Each piece is also unique, since it is not possible to it is not possible to make two pieces alike, they are woven to order and the colors are mixed by hand.
It is one of my most personal collections with pieces of artistic inspiration, in fact some of them have been exhibited in contemporary art galleries. have been exhibited in contemporary art galleries.
TECHNIQUE
These pieces are woven in handloom, horizontally as it was done in the past, using our own techniques based on the traditional weaving techniques of Galicia. To make the wool loops we use the "Gorullo" technique, but lifting the loops by hand, one by one.
A traditional Galician technique called "tres primideiras" is also used in the warp.
At the same time I am mixing the wool as if it were a watercolor, in order to achieve the pictorial effects of water or clouds. In this way I rescue a traditional technique to develop it in the future.
All this makes the pieces have a lot of volume and an irregular touch that makes them unrepeatable .
