From craftsmanship with love

This time I am going to take advantage of the interview that one of our clients, the firm Mimeyco www.mimeyco.com, gave us in their blog to tell you about the experience of working with them.

The firm founded by Esther Asensio and her sister Marta, makes bags and accessories collaborating with different artisans from all over Spain and from different specialties, betting in its philosophy on natural materials and fibers, palm heart, raffia, linen... close to sustainable fashion from the respect for materials and work processes, which respect people, producing all its products in our country.

Our values as a firm coincide with theirs and in my particular case, they came to the workshop to make a limited edition summer bag, inspired by the Mediterranean Sea and its culture and the colors of Joaquín Sorolla that marked their 2019 collection.

The creation process was carried out in our workshop together and in different sessions, we chose the linen yarns and the materials with which the pieces were going to be woven. Raffia, rope, different shades of linen, which could reflect that casual and free character that represents a summer, fresh and on the Mediterranean coast...

We made different fabric samples and finally the tones chosen were the toasted beige linen and the white rope that represents the sailors. The fabric was adapted in its measurements to the designs of the bag's measurements so that there would be no waste in the cuts. And even the handles are custom woven on the loom.

Timeless pieces, simple in appearance, but very thoughtful, made with great care and a long process of elaboration that makes each one of them unique, not only because they are hand-woven, but because they are made with great respect for the craftsmanship and the love put into the work by both parties.

To show this respect, Mimeyco launched the collection of these handmade bags with the name of each of the artisans authors. In this case mine.
