Textile crafts and traditional crafts with needle and thread in relation to art, innovation or fashion.
During the visit to such a unique haberdashery I was not only able to see his magnificent store, which I have seen so many times on social networks, but I also met Ramón and his textile universe in person.
An old haberdashery as those of all life but known worldwide through their videos and now adds the Chrysalis with needle and thread podcast in which I have participated to talk about textile crafts and traditional crafts.
It has been a very pleasant interview where we could talk aboutmy professional career and my textile studio in Allariz RiR & Co its beginnings. Remember the collaborations in fashion and the first fashion show in Madrid Fashion Week or with the Museo del Traje.
We also talked about the latest projects related to textile research such as the artistic residency CiCA Gallery or the milestone in my career that has meant the National Crafts Award in the product category with the handmade baby blanket D-Leite.

Finally, after almost an hour of conversation, "there is still a lot of material to be cut" although we talked about many topics, many others were left untangled and we would have loved to go into more depth.
But if you want to know the whole conversation, here is the complete interview.
During the interview we talked about the future of professions and trades related to fashion and the most contemporary textile crafts, such as seamstresses, embroiderers, dressmakers and weavers.
The younger generations have found in textile crafts and needle and thread work such as crochet, knitting or embroidery a way to connect with their roots, with the crafts of yesteryear.
These artisanal professions are being revitalized... Although the fashion sector has many shortcomings in reference to the more traditional trades, such as seamstresses and textile craftsmanship that in other countries such as France or Italy is part of haute couture or savoir faire.
New digital media such as podcasts or videos are used to show the essence of textile crafts.
The interview season ends, but we will be attentive to the next one to continue to keep alive the interest in the arts of weaving, loom, traditional crafts and the avant-garde through their interviews on youtube.
It is clear that the Internet is a magnificent window to the world where to show all the value that craftsmanship and tradition keep to the younger generations and to all the people who love textiles.
An opportunity to discover new ways of carrying out traditional crafts through design, innovation and even art.
As a souvenir ... of course some crystal buttons from the 40's.
Chrysalis' famous vintage crystal buttons are a wonderful souvenir of the interview for her Podcast " With needle and thread".
