Consumers are increasingly demanding more information on materials and best practices from those who want to sell them a product or service.

Incorporating natural, more sustainable, recycled or ethically produced materials should not only be in the speeches of companies. But also in what we consume on a daily basis, especially in our fabrics.

The world and especially nature are shouting at us that natural materials are finite.

In my case, a micro SME like 94% of Spanish companies, the circular economy is a fundamental pillar.

Climate change should lead us to a change in creative thinking when designing our products. Thinking about their life cycle and how this product will impact our lives and the ecosystem at the end of its use.

This is what we call Ecodesign

The Circular Economy is a differentiating element when designing our products.

This is the case of our milk protein fiber blanket, which incorporates a fiber certified by the supplier as organic. It is handmade on our looms and is an article that combines circularity with a new way of making contemporary crafts.

An innovative approach that benefits people and the environment.

This handmade blanket has been included as a product to be taken into account in the future production of Galicia. Being included in several exhibitions where circular economy products are shown as the way forward in responsible production.

Some of them have been " Galicia Futura" Cidade da Cultura and has been curated by Deborah Garcia @deborahciencia and Miguel Cajigal @elbarroquista .

Or recently "Circular Labs" exhibition organized by a consortium of companies from Spain and Portugal, such as Inorde, EOI or Paidea Foundation among others. These initiatives promote the implementation of the circular economy in our environment through the good practices of small SMEs.Handmade baby blanket Circular Labs Exhibition- Inés RiR & Co.

Although carrying out a project like this has not been easy. Innovation for a small company is an arduous task. For us it started three years ago. Not only has it given us good results in terms of products, but also in terms of visibility as a socially responsible company.

This type of product, made with biodegradable materials and a process that customers can follow through social networks and our website, https://rirandco.com/manta-para-bebe-d-leite/ or blog https://rirandco.com/alimentando-la-piel-con-d-leite/.

Products should benefit people, the environment and have a positive impact on your surroundings.

Generate benefits for all.

Contribute to to a transparent marketing and a truthful brand image that make our workshop a reference. Even for other companies in different sectors, sometimes opposed to ours, for the ability to combine design, tradition and innovation in our handcrafted fabrics.

For an artisan company located in a rural environment like mine, dedicated to the production of quality textiles, with natural materials, practicing sustainability is an effort and in some cases a challenge, practicing sustainability is an effort and in some cases a challenge.

But at the same time is the value that defines our work. We are committed to ecodesign based on the well-being of people, our customers and society. That is why sustainability is a necessary luxury. sustainability is a necessary luxury.

The circular economy must start with the company's values.

These values must be defined from the outset and bein line with the company's objectives.with the company's objectives economic, social or environmental so that in this way the customer can perceive a clear and true message regarding the sustainable practices of your company, this is what is called being transparent.

This transparency I try to share and disseminate through creative training work, consulting and mentoring in Design and Fashion Schools, architecture and different entrepreneurship forums. No not only in reference to Craftsmanship but to materials and entrepreneurship. Conveying that it is possible to work responsibly is part of these sustainable practices.

Many small businesses do amazing work in relation to sustainability and eco-design.

These weeks I have had the opportunity to coincide with them in events organized by the Paideia Foundation or Coca Cola Spain.

It was a luxury to have been invited to them and to the First Talks Tour that took place in León. Where I was able to share experiences and innovative ideas related to sustainable economy with other women entrepreneurs.

It is important to share these values that must be present in our day to day life. Whatever our activity is through any forum, so that in the future we can all enjoy this necessary luxury called Sustainability. so that in the future we can all enjoy this necessary luxury called Sustainability.
