Description
This linen and alpaca wool scarf with stripes and different colors is a tribute to our ancestors. Our grandparents, AVÓ and AVOA (words that mean "grandfather" and "grandmother" in Galician) have been the inspiration when knitting them.
They, who knew other very hard and difficult times, always opted for quality fabrics when it came to dressing, and went out for Sunday strolls with their perfectly sewn and woven warm garments. In fact, they highly valued handmade and quality fabrics, because in many occasions they had lacked the possibility of having them.
The memory of their wool scarves around our necks when they took us to school, their impeccable coats when we went for a walk or their taste for natural fibers with impeccable workmanship, has helped us to design this timeless linen and wool scarf made with the same affection that they transmitted to us throughout a lifetime.
The scarves of these collections, of different colors and designs, have a linen warp and are hand-woven in our handloom in Allariz (Galicia, Spain) with alpaca wool or silk, which gives them a special lightness and softness.
There is also a piece of each model, following our philosophy of creating a unique piece for each different person. Their designs have been updated and we have opted for stripes in different proportions to create timeless designs and fabrics that remind us of our grandparents' fabrics, which we would not have minded inheriting.
These pieces are unisex and although we have labeled them as AVÓ and AVOA, you can have them if you are a boy or a girl, because their designs work very well as a complement for men or women .
