Product description and history.

This collection “The Little Fires”, to which these belong  Handmade chunky wool scarves different colours is inspired by the tale titled “A Sea of Little Fires“ by Eduardo Galeano, from his book “The Hugs”, where he tells us that each person is different from all the others.

It says in this text that “There are no two fires alike, and each fire has its own colour. Some people have serene fires, the kind the wind doesn't even notice, and then there are people of wild fire who fill the air with sparks. Some foolish fires don't ignite or burn, but others, others burn their lives with such anxiety that you can't stop staring, and anyone who gets close catches fire. 

The fact that they are handmade makes these artisanal wool scarves unique, just like people. They symbolise the a passion for life, the authenticity of each person who possesses it, to embrace and cherish difference.  

Much like handmade blankets, these handmade maxi wool scarves We are a contemporary textile craft product with a modern design. 

Handwoven on our looms using a technique we developed, based on an ancient Galician method called “Gorullo”. This ancient technique created loops with a rod in the fabric as it was woven on the loom. On my loom, I create these handmade maxi scarves with a different, natural wool. I pull out each loop one by one, by hand, with my fingers, arranging it to create a piece that has a different front and back, making patterns with the wool like little “hearts”.

The fabric is made with different natural and soft materials, such as merino wool with silk or mohair, alpaca, etc., in different colours.  These textile craft pieces in wool are made one by one on a hand loom, and it takes a week to weave them. 

These handmade scarves are special and unique because the wool they are made from comes from yarn spun in old factories, and we have limited quantities for each colour. In this case, yellow is a luminous and vital colour that brings us joy.  

Unique accessories for women that will accompany you in your day-to-day. They are light, soft, delicate and very lovely, with a pleasant feel and volume. The colours are combined in relation to the different materials in bands of different wools.
