I'm sure you have many scarves in your wardrobe, but this one is special. This scarf is more than just a warmand soft garment to keep you warm in winter. This scarf is daring and different.
Warm and cosy. Original and unique. Take a look at the photo. I think you can really appreciate the quality of the wool we use in our artisan workshop. It's so nice to caress it!
But what we like most about the ‘Los Fueguitos’ scarf is how well it fits around the neck. It is the perfect accessory for cold winter evenings, where colour is always welcome.
Do you like bright colours?
These maxi handmade wool scarves in tones of yellow are designed so that you can wrap yourself in their warmth wherever you go, as if they were a blanket.
This scarf also hides something: it is inspired by a story by Eduardo Galeano.
Size: 200 x 45 cm.
Reused materials: wool from old factories that are now closed. Nowadays, wool like this is no longer made!
Maxi yellow handmade woollen scarves woven on our handlooms with a modern textile design that makes them perfect as a fashion accessory. In this model, the colours of yellow and grey are prominent.
Size: 200 x 42 cm
‘Los Fueguitos’ collection, to which these handmade wool maxi scarves of different colours belong, is inspired by the story entitled ‘Un Mar de Fueguitos’ by Eduardo Galeano, from his book ‘Los abrazos’, where he says that each person is different from each other.
He says in his text that “no two fires are the same and each fire has its own colour. There are people who have serene fires that the wind doesn’t even notice, and there are people with crazy fires that fill the air with sparks. Some foolish fires neither light up nor burn, but others burn their lives with such anxiety that you can’t stop looking at them without blinking and whoever comes close to them lights up”.
The fact that they are handmade makes these woollen scarves as unique as the people. They symbolise the passion for life, the authenticity of each of the people who own them, to care for the differences.
Like the handmade blankets, these handmade maxi wool scarves are a contemporary textile crafts with a current design.
They have been woven on our looms with a techniquedeveloped by us, based on an ancient Galician technique called ‘Gorullo’. This ancient technique creates loops with a rod in the fabric when weaving it on the loom. I make these handmade maxi scarves on my loom with a different and natural wool. I take out each loop one by one, by hand, with my fingers, placing them to make a piece that has a different face and a different back, making drawings with the wool like little ‘hearts’.
The weave is made with different soft materials, like merino wool with silk or mohair, alpaca, etc. in different colours. These maxi woollen scarves are made one by one in our artisan workshops and take a week to weave.
These handmade scarves are special and unique because the wool with which they are made comes from closed spinning factories and we have limited pieces for each colour. In this case, yellow is a bright and vital colour that brings us joy.
