Red Handmade Wool Blanket – Fueguitos Collection

Thishandmade wool blanket is inspired by the story ‘Los fueguitos’ by Eduardo Galeano, where he writes that there are little fires of many colours. As we believe in the diversity of each person, every blanket is different.

This blanket has a unique design and is handwoven with wool in our textile crafts workshop, with different natural materials: red merino wool and white mohair.

The loops are hand-woven and are inspired by the ancient technique of ‘gorullo’, very popular in Galicia, especially in rural areas. Instead of weaving with a rigid rod, they are gently hand-knitted one by one, to achieve the voluptuous texture of this handmade blanket, which are a real caress.

This blanket is from Fueguitos collection: these blankets are warm, light, soft, delicate, and very cosy, with a nice touch and volume. One side has more colour and the reverse side is different and whiter. This means that they can be used on both sides with different designs, which makes this blanket a unique piece of textile craftsmanship.

The customer can order the product personalised, with a few changes, making our design their own.
